The Juvenile Cherry Head Tortoises have beautiful markings on their heads and feet. They’re a very hardy species, making them a nice turtle for beginning keepers. They environment should be humid, with a nice soaking area and even some mud for them to wallow in.

Juvenile Cherry Head Tortoises will become very friendly with their keepers as they get to know you. They’re very active tortoises but they’ll also need a nice, comfortable place in some foliage to take refuge in so they can get away and relax now and then. They do enjoy relaxing in shallow waters, so it’s important that they have a place to soak.
